I'm a simplistic fellow.
I've got a nice double din to work with.
Nissan Altima 2003 3.5L
I actually bought this car for the trunk space...
I'm here seeking all forms of advice and opinions from everyone
I need a nice Head Unit
I'm not one to hop on here and ask everyone to do research for me,
I've spent the last solid month or so test driving brand new Blaupunkt, Pioneer, VR3, Alpine, Eclipse, and Fosgate head units.

Nothing seems to just have that "cream f the crop" feeling.
All I need is RCA Subwoofer outs, folder/mp3 navigation
AND COMPREHENSIVE SUBWOOFER CONTROL!!!!!!!
Some have subwoofer on/off
Some have subwoofer vol -7 - 7
I want a real subwoofer control.
I'm a kicker addict (i know, you probably dont like kicker, I dont care)
I'm running 3x 2006 Model Kicker L7 15"s on a kicker zx2500.1
with 4x 5 Farad Tsunami Capacitors.

PLEASE! Someone, advise me as to what you think wins the style + utility in your book.
Thanks!

Stay away from Blaupunkt...Fosgate hasnt made decks in a few years, so I dont know where you were looking, but they probably werent authorized dealers. VR3 is walmart crap.

So that leaves Pioneer, Alpine, and Eclipse. I personally think Eclipse make horrible looking radios, and prefer Pioneers menus over Alpine's.

I dont know much about Alpine's features and so on, but I do know, that the Pioneer 2900, 2nd from bottom of the line, has everything you ask for...If you have an iPod, Id recommend the 490 or above, as these come with direct connect controls. The 490 and 590 come with them, 690+ you have to purchase them separate, but theyre pretty cheap, especially on ebay.

Pioneer's have very good subwoofer control. If you are not trying to get your system totally dialed in (via time alignment, Parametric EQ, and x-over settings), this may be the way to go. I like function over form, reason I am running Eclipse. I actually think my current Eclipse is a good looking HU, minus the shiny volume knob. It is pretty easy to use, the programable shortcut function is one of my favorite features on it.
