For your budget, spend $150 and get yourself a Marantz MA500 monoblock (150 wpc) or spend $200 for an MA700 (200 wpc) and you're done. Great sound quality for the price.
You see, I looked at those peices, but I have listened to a few Marantz, they are kind of all over the place with their electronics, some I like some I dont.
I listened to one of their current stereo amps (forget which model), it was 200 wtts per chn, on a pair of Mirage bookshelves. We compared the Marantz to a Denon. The Marantz was very bright, very "stand out". Much more than the Denon. I'm more of a layed back smooth listener. I'm afraid , since I have my Hafler on my L/R that the Marantz wouldnt blend well. Since the Hafler is a very natural, toned down amp.
But for the price, I might give it a shot. I could probably resell it if it doesnt work out.Monitor 7b's front

Oh I know. GV, there are quite a few that pop up on ebait. I think I will get a dedicated center channel mono amp. I think the Marantz will probably be my best bet. I could eventually get 3 (if they cost around the price you mentioned and sound great) and run my entire front stage. Then move my Halfer to surround duty.
Thanks for the great advice!:)Monitor 7b's front

Here's a new thought for you alkl out there. I have an Adcom GTP 600 hooked up to a 12 zone amp for my whole house inceiling and inwall speakers. But I have a pair of RTI10's that I want to power with a different amp. I have an Adcom 2535. It is bridgeable too for 200W mono. How can I hook up that amp to power my RTI's for stereo application only?
