Drive-In Movie Night

Today is my daughter's 12th Birthday and Rebecca is having a sleepover party this weekend. Last year we had a movie party, this year we're moving it outdoors. I'm going to set up my PJ in the backyard, throw up a DIY screen, hang some speakers on the fence around the yard....viola'.....Drive-In Movie Night!
Probably leave everything set up for an extra night and watch something slightly more mature (Action/Adventure) the following night for the grown ups.
I'll try to put a few pics up of the shindig.

I love how music can brighten up a bad day. -
Had one for my daughters B-day party last night. Watching "Wild Hogs" tonight. Okay so there's no cars in the yard, but it's close enough for us.:D
Next summer we're going to put a really big screen. -
Cool! Very nice Frank!
Friends of ours did this last year. The borrowed a projector from where they work, used a laptop for the source, a mini plug to RCA jacks, then into an old receiver a two speakers. Worked great.Carl -
Your kids and neighbors will love this.
I've had a lot of success doing this about 3 times a summer over the past 4 years. 51 people at the biggest showing. We've shown movies like Finding Nemo, the Incredibles, Shrek 2, for Halloween weekend a couple years back we showed the Wizard of Oz.
Had my old Yamaha a2070 (dolby pro logic) inside, used low voltage lighting wire to run line level out of the 2070 to Harmon Kardon computer speakers for each of the channels. I wired each pair of speakers to be mono, so each pair carried one channel. Since each pair needs one of the power bricks plugged in, used Christmas lights on the ground around the perimeter of the backyard for effect lighting and bringing power to the bricks.
Had Dolby Pro Logic Surround + the front and rear effects channels in the Pro Logic Enhanced mode.
Made the screen out of a 16 x 12 white canvas drop cloth bungeed to a frame made out of chain link fence parts (top rail, corners, other brackets).

That is an awesome idea Frank. I am sure the young ones enjoyed it as much as we used to.Michael
