I recently purchsed a pair of LSi-15 speakers. I believe these speakers came out in 2002. Does anybody know if there have been any revisions to the speakers since then? For example, were there any revisions from a production run between 2002 and 2007? Thanks.

There was a cosmetic revision. No crossover or driver changes though.

(slight color changes to the wood and the gloss black was painted on rather than a laminate.)

The very first ones also had beveled edges on the top, not just a flat top as they do now.

I believe there were some slight changes to tweeter and front port placement in the LSi9 around that time. Not sure if the same goes for the LSi15.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I recently got a pair of LSi15s...one was a demo, the other was new from FRys...the demo seems to have a more redder cherry wood, when the new one seems to have a wood more like the RTi series..(more oakier/).......did I get the old one and the new one??....same flat top....any more revisions?

If you take off the grill and look at the front, do they look the same? The new series is painted on and smooth all the way to the driver. The old series is a laminate that was folded on the front and back creating a sort of picture frame effect with the grills off. Click on the LSi7 gloss black link in my signature. Twords the end of that thread, we describe the differences between the old and new series....

Aside from the finish there are no noteworthy revisions.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I have 2 pairs of LSi15s, older and newer. My older pair have the lighter, oakier wood, and the newer pair have the cherry wood. Other than that they appear to be identical.

Umm..what sig?...anyway, they look the same.the front for both is smooth, ...except the side paneling...the demo one has a fire-like cherry-colored red (beautiful!) and the new in-box one has the standard oakier, woodier red that Polks seem to have....

bbeacham - so the oakier lighter wood is the old one? and the redder fire like wood is the new one?

It is for me. I bought my first pair, the lighter oakier color, in 2003 or 2004. At the time, there were only 2 ordering options, cherry and black, and I ordered cherry. I got my other pair last January 2007 and they are the darker, cherry red.
