Naim and LSi25

I went out for groceries and I just happen to walk in front of a Hi-Fi store this weekend. It just so happen that I am looking for an upgrade for my 2 ch setup (Atoll integrated and Jm Lab Chorus 726) and I saw a setup of Naim CD5i and a matching NAIT 5i integrated (50 watts/channel) with some Audio Physic's Spark speakers. They simply sounded incredible in a large room (24'X20'-I asked).
Anybody ever heard them? I wonder if it's the Naim amp or the combination of the two (source aside) but hell... I got home empty handed (forgot all about eggs and milk) to the wife's dismay and started thinking. I was about to purchase a pair of LSi25's with some Rotel's power amp and it's got we wondering...Why all that hype with muscle amps anyway? Wouldn't it just sound better with a modestly powered amp but with better control? I wonder how would sound those LSi25's with Naim gear. Any informed help would be highly appreciated.

Well, since the LSi25s have powered subs, you wouldn't need to push as many drivers as say the LSi15s. . . so, I would think a stout Naim amp could drive them well.
Someone was saying in another thread that the LSis and other "power hungry" speakers were often Demo'd by the manufacturers themselves with like 50wpc Ayre gear. Granted, it's Ayre, but Naim is in a similar league (I think) and would probably yield grear results.
Buy the Naim gear used off Agon or elsewhere, that way if it isn't your cup of tea paired with the Lsi25s, you can resell for similar price and get something else.Stereo Rig: Hales Revelation 3, Musical Fidelity CD-Pre 24, Forte Model 3 amp, Lexicon RT-10 SACD, MMF-5 w/speedbox, Forte Model 2 Phono Pre, Cardas Crosslink, APC H15, URC MX-950, Lovan Stand

Mmhhh, interesting. I personally do not share the envy of going deaf at 40. Most critical listening usually don't require earplugs. Sure, it has some "wow" effect from the brother in-law that uses his 99$ 5.1 Daewoo receiver, produced with the utmost care in 1st grade factories in China or Corea(nothing wrong with that-different perspective I guess).

I edited my "blow your skirt up" to more accurately reflect what I meant.
Anyway, if you are going with detail and control over bass and volume level, there may even be some better choices than the LSi25s, just depends on what you are looking to spend and what you listening habits are.
What is your budget? What are your listening habits (type of music, volume level, etc)?
Maybe a bookshelf speaker would be best for you, maybe a headphone rig. Give a bit more info and we'll take care of you.

Well, I don't have unlimited budget. I have an DC100 Atoll that I want to keep (so I am saving a bit here). I listen mostly to classical (Xenakis, Varese, Messiaen, etc.) I was looking for a British integrated but open to suggestion in the 3 to 4 k. Have MIT Shotgun S3s for cables. For speakers, my ears were pleased with Verity Audio Parsifal Encore and a Spendor SP100 for that style of music. I have heard twice the LSi25 on a Sony receiver and a magnavox 5 disc player (what a shame) and they showed very little guts. I do believe that paired with adequate gear, they just might serve me well.

To change up the LSi's I have currently, I'm looking at the Monitor Audio RS6. But, I'm a bang for the buck type and wouldn't pay for the Verity.-Ignorance is strength -
