I am lppking to upgrade my center speaker which is a Polk Monitor cs1. I have Polk Monitor 30s for my main and surround speakers. I need some advice as to the differences between the Monitor cs2 and the csi5. I would like to upgrade to one of these, but I don`t know which would be a better match and timbre with the monitor 30s. I am looking for clearer dialogue coming out of the center speaker that I don`t seem to get with the Monitor cs1. If anyone can give me some advice, I would surely appreciate it.

CSi5 would be the way to go. The center channel speaker in HT is the most important speaker. Sub also. You might upgrade your other speakers along the way. But why short your self now.
Good luck.engtaz
I love how music can brighten up a bad day. -

+1000 go as big as you can on the center channel. Like engtaz says; the center channel is the most important speaker in your HT setup along with your sub (http://www.svsound.com/) as you make your journey, you'll probably upgrade your other speakers along the way. Enjoy!!Home Theater

get the csi5 they have a good price right now at jr and onecall. i think polk is replacing them and then you will have to pay more for the newer model. not sure if that extra money would be worth it to you.

have you checked to make sure that the cs1 that you currently have is not defective or possibly it's in your receiver. I used to own a cs1 using it on a Denon 3805 and I did not find it to be the least bit lacking in dialog compared to the rest of my monitor line of speakers. I had a tweeter that was defective right from the factory in one of my Monitors 70's and it made both of them sound like ****. I was almost convinced that the 70's sucked big time until I realized the bad tweeter and had it replaced. They sounded night and day different. Why don't you try puting one of your 30's in it's place just to see if it might be possibly a speaker or reciever issue. Like I said..the cs1 that I had sounded great to me.Onkyo TX NR 5008 modified by The Upgrade Company

Use an RTi12 as a center.
They're on sale now.
I think there was one guy around here crazy enough to do just that, yeah, what was his name again?

If your lookling for perfect tember match and overall physical match. Get CS2, I have no doubt it would sound better than the CS1, and it would match perfectly.Monitor 7b's front
