Martin Logan Grotto
SOLD SOLD SOLD PRICE: $550 SHIPPED OR $475 LOCAL PICKUP SOLD SOLD SOLD
Condition:
I am the second owner of this unit. It is in very good condition with the only blemish being a couple of hairline scratches on the top of the sub. They are very fine and ~4in long each, they are adjacent to each other. I only noticed them when taking pictures in the sunlight, I am not sure if they are my fault or the original owners.
Terms:
The previous seller did not have the manual or original box but the subwoofer will be packaged well. When shipped to me it was professionally packed by UPS and I will be using the same materials, aka lots of bubble wrap with packing peanuts and a over sized box. Accepting Paypal (add 1.5%), money order, or personal check from buyers who have verifiable good feedback.
Description:
This sub was highly recommended by members here. It is very fast and works great for music, it also has a good amount of power and goes plenty deep (sub 20hz). This sub could keep up with anything I threw at it, really just phenomenal.
If you wish to know more just use the search feature for grotto and read all the positive feedback.
Thanks.
Jared
edit: ignore the whitish mark in the second picture, issue with the camera not the sub

I am interested in the Grotto. where in CT do you live? thx.

Shadow,
They use the same design in all their higher end models, just the next level up has more drivers. It is a cool looking design, very unique.
Scot2q,
Do you have verifiable good feedback? So far your only posts are here, and in another thread saying "just getting to 25".
I am located in upper central CT a few miles from the MA border in a town called Suffield. If you know where Six Flags New England is I am a few miles away from that. -
I just joined the group but you can check my ebay record if that helps. see link below.

I live in Natick MA and was at 6 Flags last summer but the drive is too far and I would opt for shipping.
Based on your "stature" here, I could use Paypal or send you a check today. I am a little confused by the ask, but hoping it is $550 shipped.
Thanks, Scot. -

You're from Natick and he's from northern CT along the MA border....why not just drive and pick it up? Sure it may cost just as much in gas but no need to worry about the those awesome shipping guys dropping or playing soccer with your sub.
Jump on the mass pike and off you go! -

Scot,
Yes it is $550 shipped. The $475 is an incentive for someone local to pick it up thus saving me from paying for shipping and going through the hassle of shipping it. In this situation it might be cheaper for me to hand deliver, as you are only about 90 miles away.
Could you please verify your Ebay account by either sending me a message through ebay (Gaara925) or sending me a email with the account you use for ebay? My email addy is Gaara_925 at yahoo dot com.
Thanks.

Thank God, this is an amazing sub. Good Luck with the sale! I just sold my Grotto to finance my Cambridge Audio 840C. Toughest decision ever . . . the closed ported design makes for stellar bass reproduction.
-
awesome! pls contact me and we can work out the details. Thanks Jared, Scot.

Solid,
It is a awesome sub but doesn't fit where I wanted it to, dam irregular shape. Definitely the most accurate bass I have experienced with a sub. Congrats on the Cambridge, i'm surprised you were able to back to a CDP, most who go the SB3 route can't go back due to the convenience.
Scot,
I sent you a email, I was going to PM but I don't think you could respond due to your post count. -
I love streaming music, but I still prefer my CD. Not for the sound necessarily, but partially because I like just putting a solid disc into a player, partially because it is "more likely to sound better" based on consensus, and partially because my computer doesn't have a remote that allows me to change on the fly.
The 840C stands alone as a DAC as well, so I will continue to stream music when not doing serious listening.
Somebody buy the sub! -
Also, I'm hoping the 840C will prove CD is still superior to streaming audio.
