This is gonna be fun

145 mph winds gusting at over 175 mph. She should be coming ashore sometime early Thursday morning. We've already got our entire house boarded up and sandbagged. The entire region around me looks abandoned. This is gonna be fun! The coast is only about 60 miles South of where I live and they're expecting up to a 20' storm surge.

    I was born and raised in LA. I have been through 3 of them. Lived much more inland but was always wowed by natures fury.

    Scott, didn't you say once that you lived in Morgan City or near there? We actually got really lucky with this one. It went farther West than originally anticipated and dropped from a Category '4' to a category '2.' We didn't lose power or phones here. We just had some 70-80 mph winds that knocked down a few trees. Nature is impressive and I'm just glad that I didn't get to go through one right on top of me. I've been through several but I was too young to really remember.
