Anyone heard of these amps?

I noticed these high power ss amps that appear to be common ground. http://www.d-sonic.net/ I thought the Magnum 1000s might power the 1Cs quite nicely. Opinions, please.

The Magnum 1000s uses 2 1000asp modules in the same chassis. Many different brands use these modules, including Bel Canto, Jeff Rowland, EVS, Red Dragon Audio, PS Audio, Acoustic Reality, Wyred 4 Sound, Murano, Acoustic Reality, Rotel...I am sure the list goes on.

If you don't know about IcePower I can fill you in. Basically these amps should have gobs of power, are very quiet, have great dynamics, and run cold. I personally have the EVS 500M monos which use the same modules.

These things shouldn't vary much between brand because they are plug, the 1000asp module comes with a SMPS power supply. All that is required of the manufacturer is to add connectors and a little bit of wiring, and throw it in a chassis. Because of this most brands should sound almost the same, the only exceptions being EVS and Red Dragon because they both mod the modules which most don't do (nullifies the warranty).

I have no idea how they would power the 1cs, but with my Gallos they are the best sounding, most dynamic, coolest running, quietest amps I have ever had. The bass is where these really excel, they go deep, hard, and fast.

If you have any specific questions on Icepower feel free to ask, I have been researching these for over a year now.

Before I bought the short-lived MF A5 integrated, I was looking at the PS Audio integrated. PS Audio indicated to me that they were non-common ground amps. My SRS's obviously aren't compatible, so be sure you have access to a AI-1 interconnect.

The ICEpower modules are at the leading edge of Class D design.Through an industry connection I was able to obtain a 250asp module to power a subwoofer which it does admirably.I have yet to hear a pair used to power a full range speakers but hope to soon.

Their site indicates a shared ground, I thought this meant it was common.
I think I can power my SDAs with this amp with the original pin/blade interconnect.... am I wrong?

I also think my speakers are 6ohm.

would these amps only drive 8ohm speakers from the website it does not have any mention on 4ohm?

They drive a 4ohm load just fine, depending on which spec you look at and distortion % these are rated anywhere from 1000wpc-1175wpc into a 4ohm load.

Many subwoofers use this technology, so they can handle low impedances quite well.

These use the 1000asp module found here on B&O's site

The model numbers #of the stock ICEmodules is based on their power output into 4 ohm's.They are almost perfect current sources in that the available power into 4 ohm's is about twice that for 8ohm loads.

    Just saying...

I only have a block diagram and not a full schematic for my 250asp.The diagram shows that the neg output terminal is not connected to ground therefore not common ground. If I get a chance I will check the actual unit tommorow.

OK I just checked my module and can confirm it is not common ground.I would expect the higher power modules to be likewise.

It seems alot of companies don't understand common ground. Thanks for checking it out and letting me know.

    Your welcome.

It does get confusing when companies give you conflicting info.
