it's pretty small and unobtrusive, so placing it somewhere shouldn't be that much trouble.
I was actually amazed at how small it really is.

yes, Considering my "huge" M 504 is about 46lbs and 3 times the size of the carver cube. and @165 wpc versus 200 wpc with the carver, amazing really they can stuff all that power in a small cube. if nothing else my friends can be amazed at something they have never seen LOLMY HT RIG:

I am looking at the Carver's on ebay. Want a cleaner more powerful (4ohm) amp for my HT mains. The Carver M 1.0 t Magnetic Field Reference amp is one that catches my eye. This historic amp seems to good to be true and they are going for under $300. Does anyone own or have heard this amp? Let me know!!!!!

one month ago I found at an garage sale a Carver ual-Zone Preamplifier Model C-5 with an Power Amp TFM-15 and
a TLM.3600 10 cd Changer for 250$.
I couldn't wait to get my hands on it,I just ran for it.
But I cant find any information for them in internet ,
no Carver page or user manuals,
Do any body know where i can find some info about Carver.?
Thanks.:rolleyes:My Setup:
C-5 Dual-Zone Carver Preamp.
Tfm-15 Carver High-Current/High-Voltage Power Amp.

Your C-5 was manufactured till about 1993. Part of the slimline "Pro-Phile" series. THD .008, and signal to noise ratio of 95db. Hope you received the remote with it, because it came with one.
TFM-15 100wpc @ 8 ohms. I don't believe this was one of his patented Magnetic Field amps. That, and the 60wpc TFM-6b did not warrant that technology, especially at those price points. They were fairly inexpensive as compared to everybody else's 60 and 100wpc amps. TFM-15 was manufactured until 1992.
That's all I remember.

I owned the big brother M 1.5t back in the 80's it was awesome.
350x2 peaked at 600x2, with dynamic headroom to 750 watts for
short burst. If the M 1.0t is anything like it , it will blow your socks
off. I ruled everyone who came over to listen back then. Just to
let you know I have a TFM-35x now it's THX cert. 250x2 I like the
Carver mag field amps.JmasterJ Polk to the Death -
I have the m1.5t (courtesy of El Roma, the philanthropist) and the m0.5t (driving the RTA12C's also courtesy of El Roma) and love them both. I naturally concluded that the m1.0 must be equally as swell.
I've driven the DQ's as hard as I dare and the m1.5t never even breaks a sweat.

Ok so with all this talk on carver amps, My M-400 cube amp should be here thursday via UPS, can't wait to try it out as it supposed to be new or nearly new with the box and papers. I think i'm gonna stick with my RTI line for now before switching to the LSI line as thats a large chunk of cash to drop right now. I have had these for less than 4 months i think. I might just use the CC upgrade deal and get the RTI 150's later, I have asked several diff questions on amps and speakers lately and have decided i'm happy with this line up for now.MY HT RIG:

Nice amp the M1.5t. I had one of those too for awhile. I sold it because it couldn't be bridged, and also because it couldn't be used with a Dynaco Quadaptor. I ended up getting another as a spare, but I ended up selling it to Troy. Now I keep TFM-35's and an M-500t in my closet for spares. I drive the Carver Amazing's with an M4.0t and a TFM-42. They are the EXACT same amp. After Bob Carver was forced out of his company, the new guys suffered a severe lack of engineering and design talent, so they just re-packaged some of his older designs. I use those 375wpc amps bridged to 1,000 watts, and drive an Amazing with each one. It works. I feel the M-500t and the TFM-35 are the exact same amp. I know for a fact the C-1 and C-11 preamps are exactly the same, differing in cosmetics only.
Want to know how Bob Carver got his first infusion of working capital? It's a good story. Shall I go on?

You're welcome. I neglected to mention the retail price for the C-5 was $499, and the TFM-15 was $429. In 1992-1993 dollars.
THD for the TFM-15 was no greater than .5%. That was basically a Carver standard. That may look like a large number, but tests PROVE that HUMANS cannot discern thd levels of .5% and less. Those figures you see of .003% on some other big name amps are the product of using a lot of negative feedback, which is NOT a real good thing. Power into 4 ohms for the TFM-15 was 140 wpc.

I'll get into Bob Carver's first capital infusion at a later date. I'm getting a headache. Too much thinking causes me pain. -
That price makes me a lot happier about geting a nice bargain.
It makes my setup sound much better,I'm serius.
I realy love it.
Thanks again.George.
