Which front speaker match for my CS250s
I have a Cs250s with my Monitor 5jr's up front. They don't seam to go together.
I would like to try the Monitor 50 for fronts and put the 5jr in back?
If not the Monitor 50 then what will match?
I started this thread to see if what I was thinking was possibly where i needed to go with my HTS.
I switched over to a HTS about 10 years ago. My H-K stereo receiver is in the attic along with the Pioneer cassette deck, 8 track recorder and some old Pioneer speakers with 10" woofers that are probably dry rotting.
My current system now consists of:
Toshiba TP50H95
Kenwood avr209
Monitor 5jrs fronts
CS250s center
MonitorII rear
PSW50
Sonny DVP-S300
Kenwood KD-2077 (tt)
I've never been happy with the 5jrs and cs250 match, in fact we usually watch DVDs with only the 5jrs.
So What I've been trying to find out is how to start upgrading, starting with the front speakers to combine with the cs250s center. I'm asking if the Monitor 50s are a match to the cs250s? Next I'll go after a different receiver.

The S series: s4, s6, s8, s10. Cheap on ebay.

I'm also asking if the current Monitor series is a match? -
The LS series is not a match. The tweeters for the S are silk dome, and the LS has trilaminate dome tweeters. The cs350LS is the center channel for the LS speakers.
The S series uses the exact same tweeter as the 250S, except the 250's has a bucking magnet stuck on it for TV shielding.

They say the Monitor centers match the S series, so I would assume by transposition that the Monitor mains match the S series center, the 250s. So yes. -

Just to be sure I'll probably drag my CS250 into Circuit City and see if they will hook it up along with their Monitors.
Another question, Do you think the S series are as good as the Monitor series or visa-versa? -
I've never listened to the Monitor series, only the S, which, for the price, are great speakers.
