Stereo Subs

Is it a bad thing to run two different subs in a stereo configuration, EQ'd flat and adjusted for matching bass response?
Or do stereo subs ALWAYS need to be a matching pair?
Thanks!

pretty simple
Main Outs - R/L - plug into subs.
Matching subs would have to be used for stereo subs or it wouldnt sound right.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
