Saved games...OMG

Did anyone know how much space save games take up on a PC?

Long story short I was backing up all my stuff and decided to do "My Documents" to. I find out that the folder that I thought would be ~500-750mb is 14gb...and I have no idea why.

I start clicking around and realize it is the saved games! For example a saved game for C&C3 takes up ~8gb each, and in an average skirmish I will save 5 times...adding 40mb to my hard drive every time I play.

Well I erased most of my saves that I don't need with the exception of the profiles, and got the C&C folder down from 5gb to 24mb, and the CoH down from ~5gb to 18mb.

Thats 10gb of saved games! Anyone else realize that these things ate up so much space? Hell the game itself CoH only takes up 3.9gb.

I don't really play many games, but it's not surprising considering how intricate some of these games are, and how many different "paths" you can take that would all need to be uniquely identified. Though I do have to wonder why you're saving each time to a different file - I can see having 3 or 4 save points, but saving to a new file 4 times every time you play seems overkill.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.
