DirecTV DVR remote help?

Our old DirecTV Tivo unti burned up last week, and they replaced it with one of their own DVR's. Since it has 2 satellite inputs, how do you switch back and forth between the feeds? I used this all the time on the Tivo, and it was easy (hitting the 'Live TV' button). Then you could watch 2 things, pause one, fast-forward through commercials, flip to the other one so it can catch up, etc.

Google hasn't helped, and I've gone through the skimpy manual. Thanks for any info.

there is a black button on the remote right under the chan up and down buttons. it's called the prev button. it allows you to toggle between your current channel the last channel you were on. is that what you wanted to know?

Hi DB... not really, it's switching between the two inputs. At least with the Tivo unit, it was alwasy 'recording' two channels at once (to fill the 30 minute buffer), and you could bounce back and forth between the two with one button on the remote. So you could watch one channel, pause the other one, then flip back and forth.

dylan is your DVR a dual tuner? if not, then you can not toggle between two channels.. my dual tuner you can.

How do you do it on the dual tuner? I'll check the model when I get home. It does have 2 inputs from the satellite. I'll have more time tonight to poke around. The spinning light is cooler at least. ;)

i can record one program at a time while watching another channel.. or record two programs at one time while watching something already on the hard drive.

if you have two coax lines coming into your DVR, then you should have a dual tuner.

as for toggling.. all i do is as described above in my other post... i have never paused it then switched to watch another channel.. i just record the first one.. and watch it later. i have a short attention span.. and don't multi-task between two live programs. ;):p
