No, but the prices on that stuff isn't bad. I think the comments about Maple are pretty biased towards his product but I like isolation theory.
Maple is used because its inexpensive, durable and available, not because of its "acoustic" properties.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
I agree. So you read that...I loved the part that says that "audiophiles pay top dollar for silly things"......go figure._________________________________________________

They are all the rage over at audiocircle, but I have no personal experience.

Don't get me wrong, love the idea and the product is easy to get into from a wallet perspective.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Buy it.
I've purchased two or three platforms from this seller -- maple and walnut. Can't beat the prices. Quality is good, too. I gotta admit, though -- I couldn't tell the difference in sound...So I'd suggest buying one of them to try out.
I've also used butcher blocks purchased from T.J. Maxx or Marshalls for $9.99 ea., so check those kinds of places, too.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub
"God grooves with tubes." -
I haven't used that exact product, but I've used a maple block on cones & it looked great, but can't touch my current solution:
MDF box filled with about 50 pounds of sand on spikes. Ugly as all hell.
Took me maybe twenty minutes to throw together (plus glue drying time) and it made a world of difference.Gallo Ref 3.1 : Bryston 4b SST : Musical fidelity CD Pre : VPI HW-19
Gallo Ref AV, Frankengallo Ref 3, LC60i : Bryston 9b SST : Meridian 565
Jordan JX92s : MF X-T100 : Xray v8

HT,
I agree with UNC. The sandbox solution offers much better isolation. One of these days, I'm going to build one or buy one. If you don't want an ugly, self built one, look at what BrightStar audio offers. For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore... -
I currently use this:

Under my transport...at first I didn't really notice a difference...after one year in my system I was told that I had it setup wrong...I had the feet supporting the transport with the base underneath everything...I switched it to what it should have been...Feet, base, transport...there was an audioble difference...and it was fairly cheap.
