Question re: Polk Monitor 60s and unusual hookup

Hi, all. I have a question to ask re: an unusual speaker set up and I'm wondering if anyone can help. I have three Polk Monitor 60s...yes, it's an unusual number and a very long story, but there you have it! I'm currently using the two as my regular stereo/front speakers, and I'm wondering if it would make sense to use the third as a center speaker. I running an old Sony GX59ES as my amp. Any suggestions on the best possible use for this third speaker would be great. (Or would it simply make more sense to buy another and use those as my rear speakers as well.) Thanks, John

I think it could make a plausible center. Placement would be the issue.
Can you take off the "feet" and turn it sideways? That would be a very intimidating center speaker, and since it is flat on both sides, should be easy to place on a stand, if you have one big enough.
If you already have a good center or no room for this beast as a center, I would just opt for another one to round out matching front and backs.
I think the Monitor 60's (especially when they were 50% off at Tweeter) are a great value speaker for HT. Sound decent with most music as well, especially with a nice B&K ampStereo Rig: Hales Revelation 3, Musical Fidelity CD-Pre 24, Forte Model 3 amp, Lexicon RT-10 SACD, MMF-5 w/speedbox, Forte Model 2 Phono Pre, Cardas Crosslink, APC H15, URC MX-950, Lovan Stand

Thanks, Andy. I was just trying a test post here, but I sure appreciate your thoughtful answer. I do have room for the speaker on my rack, so I may take the feet off and drop it up there. Certainly worth a try!
Thanks again,

That was just a test answer from me.

I was given a pair that was beaten. One survived and now rests on my entertainment center letting me hear a whole new world of audio. The other one is just scrap, taking up room. I am looking for a home for it now. I really do not want to dump the cash into it that I can use to fix my wrecked sub that was given to me......Tedd ILL
