He's going to set the record for the world's fastest corpse.

I'd like to see the engineering behind this one.
Must have some king of stepped plan. A normal chute would either rip away,
or if strong enough , kill you with the "SNAP".

I think the thought is that he will break the sound barrier and then the increasing air density will slow him down on it's own so that by the time his chute deploys he will be going the same speed that he would be on a regular jump.
I know just enough to be dangerous, but don't tell my wife, she thinks I'm a genius. :D

He hopes to make the jump over the Great Plains of Saskatchewan in Canada some time next month, weather permitting.

They apparently chose a pretty large landing zone :D And that's exactly what it sounded like edbert.

Blows my mind. My dad worked on Tr-1's for many years, so to hear about someone going higher than they go for a jump made me quiver just thinking about it.

I'd be most worried about going into a death spin -- spinning out of control so fast you black out/redout and...well... don't pull your chute.

If you research the trouble planes had with the "sound barrier"
or even the land speed record, a space suit could prove to be
a very poor choice. I do agree at some point, air resistance will slow
him down to "max velocity". The real question is, what would occur prior to
this point. Also, 9500 feet is still a long way up to hit a chute.
Someone may need to invest in a super sized spatula for the body
    recovery.:D
