Well my brother and I were riding in my car leaving a restaurant when he noticed a puff of smoke coming from under my hood. Sure enough my AC no longer works. My car isn't even 3 years old yet! But I have 50 k on it so no warranty anymore.

Every time I think I have made a decision on a house, something breaks that requires money. Maybe there is a message in all of this...

Those Altimas are quite reliable. Did you have any other issues with the car? Seems like an isolated issue to me, unless Nissan quality has gone downhill?

I have an Infiniti G20 about to hit 200,000 miles. I have only had to replace the starter once. That's it as far as problems, the rest has been maintenance (clutch, brakes, tires, oil changes).

I know I am not the only one with such a reliable Nissan, so yes disneyjoe, nissan has been building quality realiable cars for quite some time.

    Sounds like an isolated incident.

I agree. Sounds like you just got one of the odd ones that will have a problem or two. Nissans are extremely well built cars. They are after all the same people that build Infinty which is arguably the best built cars on the planet!
