SDA tweeter question

I just got a pair of SDA1s and am wondering if anyone has ever swapped the silver faced SL1000s for the earlier black peerless.? The SL1000s are very smooth but the peerless seem to have more defintion but may not be as open as the sl1000. I base this on my experience of switching tweeters back and forth for testing with my 10s which I have had since 1981 and a pair of RTA 12s I recently picked up. I know some one will bring up the RDOs. I have a pair here and tried them in the 12s and 10s and three of us reached the same conclusion . They are very smooth but have very little extension and the sound stage seems very small compared to the Peerless or the SL1000. Thoughts would be appreciated. keith
