There was a deal at Second Act that I couldn't pass up, especially now that I have a larger stand.
So here it is. My new ridiculously large Toshiba 65" 1080P DLP. It actually weighs significantly less than my 50" Panasonic Plasma, though... (which is good, cuz I'm not sure how sturdy my stand is going to be)

So tell us what you think of DLP over Plasma now!
BTW what's the source video that is for the Tonight show? If DirecTV or OTA it's 1080i right, so really not taken the advantage of the 1080p.

Jake, FYI I picked this up for $1199. (Refurbished of course, but no worries here)
Joe, I used to have a 50" 1080P Samsung DLP. I preferred my 720p plasma, but I'm enjoying the extra 15". I do have a PS3, so I can enjoy the 1080p that way. But I believe the Tonight Show is displayed in 1080i. -
Congrats very very nice price. good looking unit too. great looking stand also there. Now all you need is some big honking SDA SRS 1.2 tls to flank that huge display.:D
REGARDS SNOWWell, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all -

hey jake, my friend was about to buy that set until he saw a letter box movie (w/black bars) on it. you could see some geometry problems along the top corners where the image meets the black bars. kind of dipped down along the edges. saw it on two different sets at different retailers. can't see it on full screen material. just a heads up.
