The only downside to them -- some say

Is reduced contact with the post... since there is less metal or w/e...

But I like them because they are quick and to me a pretty solid connection

But my speakers are still 4 ohms, pretty sure about that.

There's no downside as long as they are high quality, which would apply to spades also.

Never quite saw the point to spades...

Would be slippery to me - easier to pull out, not really a better connection..

I would rather use bare wire than spades...

You can get a much much tighter connection with good spades than you can with bare wire especially if you are using stranded wire 12 ga or less. With the wire, the nut squishes the strands and the tightened nut pushes the wires our of the connection.

I just recently purchased some spades from Vampire to make some jumpers cause my banana holes in the posts are taken. I get a really tight connection with them.
