Well my wife and I are back from our Caribbean 7-day cruise. We had a great time! The highlight of the trip was that I secretly organized with one of the directors, a wedding vow renewal ceremony for my wife and I, since it was our 25th anniversary, with the captain performing the ceremonies. The surprise was a success, and the look on her face was priceless. I even got her a new diamond ring and wedding band for the occasion.
To top things off, I managed to get a tour of the bridge and watched the captain back the ship out of port. Later, the captain and the whole bridge crew met us privately in the bar for drinks. Comedian Eddie Cappone was also there with us for drinks and he later performed his show for the guests.
The drive down to Miami went perfectly, as did the cruise. However, the return drive did not go so well. I had planned to meet several friends on the way back, as they were pretty much on my planned course back home. My motorhome had a transmission failure in Richmond, Virginia a few years ago, this time, the transmission in my car failed in Richmond, Georgia!
I called the autoclub and they arrived about an hour later. I gave him the keys to the car and told him he can keep it. We got a lift to the airport in Savannah and booked a flight back to Montreal for a whopping $1700.
Oh well, so thats how things go sometimes. Im just not lucky with automatic transmissions; I guess I should get a standard car next time.

No, I am not wealthy, far from it. When the customs agent asked me if I had anything to declare, I told him that I'd like to declare personal bankruptcy.

Well I'm sure others are thinking it, but I'll say it:
That's what you get for living in Canada!

Or just try trading each other and riding piggyback all the way back to Canada. It'd probably get you there faster than a failed transmission and Canadian airlines! (sorry, had to, it was too easy)Trey (5:22:24 AM): my Taylos have copper phase plugs

What happens when the transmission on the Flintstones car breaks? Broken legs?If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

We used Delta Airlines for the return trip. Savannah to Atlanta, then Atlanta to Montreal. Other airlines were more expensive. There was one that was cheaper, but it required staying at a hotel until Monday. I just wanted to get the pain over with as soon as possible instead of letting it linger for a couple of more days.
When the tow truck dropped us off at the airport, we checked pricing, found that Delta airlines had a flight leaving in 30 minutes, and booked it on the spot.
Now I have to shop for another car.

Congrats on a great 25th.
REGARDS SNOWWell, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all
