Bourne Ultimatum Question - Spoilers

Okay, for those of you who've seen the movie...
I was fine with everything in the movie and didn't have any question...until I thought about it some.
The thing that's throwing mee off is the part of the movie where Landy tells Bourne that his name is David Webb and he was born 4-15-71. That doesn't match the birthdate they have on file for him, which tips off the people that it's a code of some type and they figure out it's that address.
Okay, I'm fine with all that, here's my questions:
A: How does Bourne know it's a code? When she tells him that he doesn't have the files yet, so he wouldn't know that it's not the real birthday, so he'd have no reason to think it's a code. Taht part alone I could probably live with, figured it's just a whole in the plot writing.
B: What really throws me off though: I just watched the second movie again, and at the very end she tells him the exact same thing with the same date. That leads me to belive it isn't an oversight in the writing, but I can't reconcile in my mind how that all works out. I didn't think she figured all that stuff out about the other facility until the third movie, so how would she have known that address in the second movie???
Maybe I'm missing the obvious or overanalyzing, but it isn't all adding up for me...
Thoughts?

He didnt show up til after he got the files. Besides the fact that he's a really smart guy, once he got the files, he put 2 and 2 together.B: What really throws me off though: I just watched the second movie again, and at the very end she tells him the exact same thing with the same date. That was the scene from the 2nd movie. That was the point in the story where it happened.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

perhaps 41571 address was plugged after they decided to do Ultimatum, and it was a random DOB at the end of Supremacy?I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Okay, wait...so you're saying that the convo between Landy and Bourne in the third movie where she tells him that is actually just a flashback from the second movie? If so that makes sense.
It's bothering me, so I'm gonna go see it again tomorrow. -

No wait... are you saying that the entire 3rd movie was just catching up to the ending in the 2nd movie?! That's crazy..
I didn't know why he was shot at the beginning of this one... they never said why he was shot?! Does anybody know why? That was the only thing that bugged me with this one... movie opens up, he's wounded, and then it just goes to Six Weeks Later... WHY was he wounded?!? Doesn't make any sense other then he was just running from the cops AGAIN for no reason... strange... or I'm missing something.Honoured to be, an original SOPA founding member

That would be from the guy shooting him in the end of the 2nd movie. So essentially the 3rd movie takes up right after the end of the 2nd movie.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

Okay, I went to watch it again today, here's the deal.
The second movie ends with him talking to her in New York, but just before that he's in Moscow on the run, then he goes to visit that girl and tell her what happened. After that, it shows him in NYC talking to Landy.
The first 2/3 or so of the third movie actually takes place in that gap between Moscow and NYC from the second movie. So when he's talking to Landy in the third movie (about 2/3 or so through the movie), that's picking up where the second movie actually ended.
Make sense?
So, knowing that basically explains all my original questions. Apparently I didn't pay enough attention to part 3 enough the first time I watched it, so after seeing the second movie there were questions. It wasn't until I watched the third one again that everything clicked.
Given that, there are still a couple issues. At the end of the second when they're in NYC it's definitely spring or summer because the trees are in full bloom. When that scene is recreated in the third, it's winter in NYC - so that's a glitch in the writing, but not a big deal for me because it doesn't interfered with the story.
All in all it was an excellent movie, been a while since I've actually had to think about a movie like that... -
Great movie!
While watching near the end I couldn't help but notice similarities to the Matrix Reloaded. Bourne and Neo return to the inventor/architect of the programs they are in. Both inventors look like Colonel Sanders . Both play with their minds a bit about what has happened in the past. Neo and Bourne are both given the lives of others to decide their fate.
Anyone else notice this?AVR: Pioneer VSX-84TXSi (RIP - lightening) / Amp: Sunfire Cinema Grand / Klipsh R-10B Sounbar, LC65fx / Sub: Elemental Designs LT/1300 / TV: Panasonic TH-50PH9UK /SIZE] -
Yeah, except Bourne didn't suck like the last Matrix...

Right. Thats what I meant. If you take the NY part out of the 2nd movie where he's talking to Landy, then the 3rd would start exactly where the 2nd left off where he is in Moscow and shot.Polkmaniac wrote: »Yeah, except Bourne didn't suck like the last Matrix...
Couldnt have said it better myself. What a suprise that was. Matrix 1 and 2 just ruled! Then to have 3 suck like that was just hard to accept.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005
