Found a SR sub

A friend and I walked through a pawn shop the other day, and they had a corner full of subs. Nothing really stood out...'til I saw a SR. It looked like about a 12" (maybe 10") Polk Audio SR sub, in a decent looking, carpeted enclosure. They were asking $250 for it.
I thought....
Wow. A deal. If it's real. It looked real to me.
Can you usually find such deals at pawn shops? I've never been in them except for two or three times. I saw a few electronics that I KNOW you can buy new AT A STORE for the same price and for less online. What accounts for that? The store assessing popularity or how fast it will sell (the electronics) or just not knowing anything (the sub)?

They have the internet, so they know how much its worth. They just know not many ppl that shop at pawn shops are going to pay $3-400 for a SQ sub.

The sub could of been abused badly. You are better off buying a new one on ebay. You could get it for less money than the used one at the pawn shop.

Yes, if you can find a "new" one on ebay. Half the "stores" on ebay are pawn shops anyway. Here are some authorized dealers with full warranties:

I got mine brand new at an authorized dealer up here in Canada for 325. In terms of the US dollar, that would make it around 295 around the time I bought it. Worth the extra $$ for that warranty imo.
