wow!
the rti10 pair just arrived today. i hooked them up and watched Fellowship of the Ring extended edition, and it took some concentration for me to not wet myself the clarity is amazing. that's the first time i've honestly watched completely through the credits of pretty much any movie, because it was an Enya song with nobody talking or anything. it sounded absolutely incredible, even though i'm not much of an enya fan
on a different note, anybody know if the EZset/EQ calibration can be run with just 2 speakers? i emailed HK support but i am impatient -.-
on another different note, what is everybody's feeling on the Parasound HCA-1200, especially in comparison to a GFA-555? i'm looking for a nice stereo amp to make the 10's sing, and there's an hca-1200 on a-gon for 350+ shipping o.b.o

Very nice. rti10s are great speakers.
Both of those amps are very nice. I only have experience with Adcom, and the GFA-555 has gotten very good reviews and is very popular. The hca-1200 at that price is decent though. Go with the one that fits your budget best.
What kind of CD or DVD player are you using? -
right now i'm just using my xbox360 for DVD's. i got some cash for my birthday on monday, so i'm going to either upgrade to the 360 hd-dvd attachment or a toshiba hd-a2 hd-dvd player. i have to talk to my friend before i make my move though. we are living in an apartment this school year and he is SUPPOSED to be supplying the 42" hdtv, but we'll see. i would prefer the toshiba, but if he doesn't get a tv then i don't have one to hook it up to and the only option would be the hd-dvd attachment for the xbox (i have a 20" widescreen monitor and the vga cable for the 360)My 2 ch. rig

I have Adcoms, and love the older ones. Parasound has a good rep. Both are very well built amps. I would recommend either one. Dude get the Parasound at that price before someone snags it! I just looked. I am an Adcom guy, but that is very nice. Done by John CurlPlease. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

If Im not mistaken the 360 addon has been marked down. You could go that route and put the rest towards your own HDTV. Sound& Vision had a Vizio model TV in the recommended buy section, Wal- Mart carries the Vizio brand so surely it must be a decent buy from the reviews on it. Congrats on the 10s also, Outlaw audio also makes good amps for a great price. You may want to look into them as well. You can buy two monoblocks and be done as well.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

EzSetEq must be used with a 5.1 or higher setup. Hope this helps.

Who is selling this one? I just bought one from a-gon and should get it today. Seems that this is the one your looking at. Can't wait to try it out tonight.

You have a great dorm room setup. Wish I was smart enough to have a system like that during college. Do you just laugh and laugh and laugh at people and their 'boomboxes'? I know I would.
If you plan on watching mostly regular DVDs I would not get the 360 HD add on. I think its a lousy player for regular DVDs. Instead for not much more you could get a dedicated DVD player from Denon or Pioneer and have your regular DVDs look better. However, I do like the add on as an HD player. The picture quality is excellent. -
yea that's more of my concern. most of the dvd's we watch are from my netflix subscription, and they now have a pretty decent lineup of hd dvd's in addition to all of their regular ones. i had considered getting one of the hk dvd players to match my receiver, but after some debate with the electro-nerd-upgrademons in my head, i saw no point in getting another dvd player when we can just use the xbox. i thought it would be a better idea to at least move forward technologically into the hd dvd scene. even though the 360 may not be great for regular dvd's, the new hd dvd attachment is supposedly much better and can upscale too. plus i can watch it on my monitor in addition to an hdtv
as for laughing at people, i just got the speakers and i move down for the year in a few weeks. i don't know if i will laugh, but i know they will drool :>My 2 ch. rig

You can grab the Toshiba HD-A2 for not much more than the XBOX add on, just go that route. That's the route I chose personally. I have a 360 and could have easily bought the drive, but got my Toshiba for the same price, so why not?

I have not heard either of the amps you list but would pick the Parasound if I had to choose. I am very happy with my B&K pushing the RTi-10s. IMO a high current and warm sounding amp like B&K is perfect with the RTi series.
