I think 5500 is not common ground but can tie the -ve speaker posts. Search some previous posts, there were discussion about it. This is the only you need to know if you plan to use them with SDA's.

Do a search; Adcom does and has been talked about frequently here on CP. Do a google search and the first 3 entries are from CP.

Now if you mean they don't get talked about too much in the audio community that's different. They have been sold for the 2nd time and continue to produce excellent products but they haven't really had any innovative or "new" products in the last 3-5 years. It's been the same old, same old. Solid gear and a remarkable value on the used market.

Not high at all epecially when you consider a brand new GFA-5550 retails for $1200.

Avg. $$ for a 5500 is about $550-700 just by itself.

toss the gtp in the trash. They only made a few good pre's. With a good source you can get a lot out of an Adcom. For 2 channel you can get a GFA-555 for under $300 lately on the bay. These can even be bridged for 600 watts at 8, and 850 at 4. Most amps will not show you a bridged 4 ohms load because in effect it is a 2 ohms stereo load. High quaility stuff for the price you pay for sure.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

I just bought a GFA-5500 on ebay for $435 plus shipping. Now I'm looking for a GTP-602. One Call is selling "factory renewed" units for $699. Maybe that would be a good way to go, eh?
