I have 10 inch subs. I was thinking about putting one in a sealed box and another in a bandpass box. What do you guys think of this idea?

    Bad, bad, bad idea.

Mixing two totally different sounds together usually sounds like crap. Go with a sealed. If you want a ton of output, go ported. Stay away from bandpass. Way to hard to get those right and even if by some miracle you do, it wont be any better than a well built ported box.

    That's what I thought.

I was reading on Crutchfield that ported boxes work the best with Hip-Hop and other music that doesn't require as accurate of bass as say, the fast bass lines in Old School Funk songs. I want to get the most bass for the money but I don't want it to sound like crap either. I was thinking of getting a dual 10 inch ported box.

I have 2 10 Inch Power Acoustik subs rated 600 Watts RMS and 1600 peak at 4 ohms. I was thinking of powering them with a Sony Xplod 1300 Watt amp that puts out 900 Watts RMS at 2 ohms. I'm going to wire the subs in parallel so I can drop their ohm load. I was just looking for feedback.

After I get all that installed, I'll have an old 800 Watt 2 channel Kenwood amp just sitting around. The Amp is rated at 150 RMS into 4 ohms on each channel. This amount of power is okay for a small sub, but it will blow right though most coaxial speakers. My idea, this might be crazy, is to wire 2 speakers to each channel in series, thus bring the ohm load to 8. I was thinking I'd get about 50 watts RMS into 4 speakers.

Usually the best way is to buy a pre-loaded ported box. Generally these are designed specifically for the subs theyre using so youll get a good compromise between maximum boom and good SQ.

The DB212-2 for instance is a perfect example.
