I purchased one pair of my LSi9's from One Call for $499 a pair. Might not have to wait that long.

I hear Tweeter had, or has them on sale for $500 bucks? I don't know if that is all Tweeters or just select stores.

    I agree with the Epos.
There's a pair of Usher 520's on A'gon right now in bright yellow, if I recall correctly.

Epos are nice but they need to be in a smallish room to really sound good. They don't have the bass response a LSi 7 or NHT would have. Where are you using them, room size, electronics, music type, etc.? Forget the Bose they aren't even on the same planet as others mentioned.

Another vote for the LSi7s with a close second for the NHT SB3s (if you can find them). One of my favorite boodshelf speakers has always been the Vienna Accoustics Haydn. You might find a used pair for $400± since there is a newer model (Haydn Grand) available.

I've got the 902s which I really liked, until Steve brought his CRS+s down here. Even his modded Monitor 4s smoked them. Not really fair with the CRSs, but I was surprised about the M4s.

    Combo rig:

    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B

I 2nd the PSB alpha... This speaker is probably the budget king... I got my pair for $149!!! because they are the Bs and not the new B1s. (even though they sound and measure practically the same)

I considered the Epos, and it is probably a better speaker, and it would be what I would get if budget wasn't THE number one factor.

I like the PSB "house" sound though... so it all depends on what you are looking for... The Epos would definately grow as you grow your other componentry, as would LSi.

Even at this price-point, the standard array of questions apply. What type of music do you like? What are the electronics you plan on using? Do you have an idea as to what kind of sound perks your ears? Help us, help you!

All music. My LP collection covers all types.
