Due to leukemia. Just hitting the news now....

Bill Walsh has passed away

Just think of the players on those 49ers teams....Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Steve Young, Ronnie Lott, etc.

love or hate the niners, you cant take away the influence that guy had on the game. He's gone, but the legacy of that Dynasty from the 80's will live on for quite some time.

As a life-long Cowboy fan I grew up hating the 49ers'. I always blamed them for the decline the 'Boys had in the '80's. That said, this news really saddens me. Anyone who does not know what he has meant to the NFL, either is young or not a student of the game. I see elements of the West Coast Offense in many of the teams today.
