Hmmm, the X2 looks to robotic compared to the X1, the X1 was more conservative. Absolutely outstandng looking pair of speakers. A must see/hear for all audio enthusiast.

I don't even think there is a Wilson Audio dealer in my town, but I could be wrong. I have been to every single high end dealer in town and never seen a set of Wilsons. I have seen many other high end brands, for instance Focal... to keep the thread on topic... but never Wilson.

Wilson requires so much from their dealers that I am sure only few want to take on the task of being an authorized Wilson dealer.

If they are bright sounding, I would not be the least bit suprised, since Wilson's consumer speakers are just tweaked versions of their studio offerings... and since owning a pair of studio monitors, I can understand that they are certainly revealing, sometimes too much so.

So nobody else runs with Focal? Are they that rare on this forum?

Focals are just not that prevalent. I listened several nice JM Lab/Focals at a place called Uptown Audio in Roanoke, VA. but that was a 4 hour drive from my house. I have not seen them anywhere closer to me than that. I liked what I heard. The problem is there are several brands that just aren't widely distributed. Focal, Dynaudio, Theil to name a few. All very nice but difficult to locate for auditioning.

Yup i'd agree with those sentiments. In the caribbean the nearest focal dealer is in Puerto rico i think and i dont know of any dynaudio dealer except in the states. But i think that has to do with the fact that these are European brands.

If I still have my Focal 807v's by the time next year's PF hits, I'll bring them if anybody would like to get their ears on. That, of course also depends on whether we have enough room/rigs to hook them up.

I purchased mine at Tweeter. I thought all the Tweeter's would have had them. I don't know because I have only been to the two in Charlotte.

Trey has sparked my interest in the Tyler's which has a similar upper frequency reproduction and detail, but I am very impressed with his lower octave reproduction on the Taylos. My Focal's are only bookshelf speakers, so I can't compare the two really. Saving up for the same speaker he has, however I want the one with 4 mid-drivers.

Why? What was the matter with them. Bagged Lancer & I just listened to the Focus 220's last Saturday & thought they sounded awesome.

The Focals we auditioned sounded tinny & crunchy on the top and didn't have much bottom, we listened to some Dynaudio's, and that was a bad idea!

Hey Cfrizz. There is nothing wrong with them. They sound great, sometimes like heaven [audio speak'n]. That said, I would like a floor stander that gives me what a bookshelf doesn't.

I am currently running the Focal's on a tube "sound" output from the pre [for mid/upper frequencies]and an SS output from the pre line in to the Polk PSW1000 sub to utilize the crossover to a pair of RTi10's with the tweeter disabled [for mid-bass/bass frequencies]. Bi-amped rig. Tri if you include the amp on the sub.

Just want to K.I.S.S. and get one set of speakers that can do the sound justice. I don't get that from the bookshelves alone.

You are right that Focal is not widely distributed. They, Focal, has put a cap of about 200 dealers throughout the U.S. Putting them in Tweeter was a small step to get a little more publicity, but they don't have nearly the name recognition that B&W has. I deal with Focal's importer, especially for Cambridge Audio and Mordaunt Short, and since I don't have a storefront, I can't get Focal.

I've listened to different levels of Focal, and I've been impressed to an extent in just about every level. Eventually, when I do develop into a showroom, Focal will remain very high on my list as a high end speaker company to work with.

Let me know [please] if you have a contact on where to get "replacement" parts for the Focal's. I have an experiment in mind and I don't know how to speak French, which is what all conversing dialog is on their website. Looking for the TNC tweeter that is in the 807's.

I have a contact for the lower drivers, just not the tweeters.

Do you have a local dealer, or at least one close, other than Tweeter? PM me if you would like a direct contact.
