Standby mode for amp

I just got my HT up and running with Outlaw 2200's powering the LSi15's. The amp power goes through the Monster HTS1600. Should i leave the power on to the conditioner 24/7 and keep the amps in the standby mode or turn all the power off when not in use. The PSW1000 is on another circuit and should it also be left on 24/7 in standby or turned off when not in use? Just wondering what u all do with your systems when not in use. Thanks for your input.

I keep mine on 24/7 but I've got a H-K receiver. I think keeping electronics at a constant temp is better that the heating and cooling process of turning on and off all the time. I keep the computer up all the time also. My bills to the local co-op are a little more for doing this. but so far it hasn't hurt anything.

I keep mine on in standby mode. The only time it goes off is for storms like the one that blew through last night.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2

some power conditioners\surge suppressors only work when they are turned on. Make sure that this is not true for your Monster HTS1600.engtaz
I love how music can brighten up a bad day. -
The HTS1600 will only power components that are plugged into it when the unit is turned on. I've got both that unit and the PSW1000. I keep the PSW on standby and use the HTS as a master power switch.
I would recommend not ever plugging the PSW into the HTS as it severely hampers the sound.~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -
Seems like I've read people have opinions each way. Standby or not. I leave mine on standby mostly for convenience. I'm having a hard time remembering but it seems like I chatted with Outlaw about this once and was told the 7500 was intended to remain in standby and that's what they recommended (for what it's worth).

Standby keeps everything warmed up, which in turn keeps sound as it should be. If you can wait for everything to warm up for 15 full min when you are ready to use it, you should be fine that way.

jrlouie,
I see you have Outlaw preamp and amp. I'm currently running my HT with Sony A/V and 7500 Outlaw amp. I'm thinking about upgrade to 990 to match my amp. Can you tell me how you run your system and how you like it (Outlaw)? I know my HT is different from yours. Thanks -

Regarding how I like Outlaw, this was my first setup using seperates. I do think I got a good price for a quality product. I currently have no desire to upgrade that aspect of my system as I do enjoy it. The 990 has plenty of features and sounds great (from my experience) even while using it for 2-channel listening. There was an annoyance or two when I first received it but those were eleminated via a firmware upgrade that Outlaw provided. I will say though that I am awaiting one more firmware upgrade that they have said they are working on. It has to do with the truncating of the LFE track based upon where your crossovers are set. If you're thinking about grabbing the 990, I'd suggest reading up a bit on their forum. Their customer service has been good and I do like the product (just waiting for the next firmware update)
Here's a link to the 990 forum.
