Fredv, thanks for coordinating a great get together last night. Ron T & wife, Skynut & wife, Bear, Fredv, myself and a dude on a magic carpet with frequent flyer miles met up for conversation and some pie. Afterwards, gear was "borrowed" and while we were joking about a white van showing up, one drove past but it was only a patrol van. Too bad, we could have had some fun. Hanging out with CP members is a hoot.

Peach pie? Minced Meat pie? Hair pie?
Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

    Good Times.
Any time you meet a payment. - Good Times.
Any time you need a friend. - Good Times.
Any time you’re out from under.
Not getting hassled, not getting hustled.
    Keepin’ your head above water,
Making a wave when you can.

Temporary lay offs. - Good Times.
Easy credit rip offs. - Good Times.
Scratchin’ and surviving. - Good Times.
Hangin in a chow line - Good Times.
Ain’t we lucky we got ‘em - Good Times.

    CLOSING THEME LYRICS

    Mmmmmm
Just lookin' out of the window.
    Watchin' the asphalt grow.
Thinkin' how it all looks hand-me-down.
Good Times, yeah, yeah Good Times

It was lots of fun just hanging out with new friends and swaping gear.
Next time we will add gear auditions to the mix and make a day out of it.

I think "temporary layoffs" is my all-time favorite lyric...
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

    She really belted that one.

I don't know who sings it but I always pictured Wynona from upstairs. (or across the hall depending on which episode)

Actually I think it was a duet and I picture her for the female part.

My magic carpet and I have returned from a whirlwind tour of the extended Bay area, which included eating some damn good Marie Callender's PIE with some old (Robert and Steve) and new (Fred, Ron and Skyler) Polkie friends. Ron and Skyler brought their better halves along, which was nice as they brightened up the otherwise rough looking bunch of us old farts. It was a pleasure to hang with all of you and thanks for a great time.

Some other highlights included taking in the San Jose Grand Prix with my brother Dave and Robert. The sights, sounds and smells of hardcore open wheel racing has to be experienced in person. A 1.5 mile temporary road course with lap times of 48 seconds in the middle of downtown San Jose....very cool. While nothing tops an F1 race, the Champ Car series is a close second.

Since Fred lives very close to my brother, he was kind enough to give me a ride back from the PIE fest, but not before I got a chance to check out his rigs, listen to some new to me music and meet his family. You've got some really nice gear, which happens to sound really good too! Thanks for having me over, I really enjoyed myself and thanks again for the CD.
