We received our Outlaw7500 today! It is 94lbs of clean power. We're real happy with it so far! We bought it new after searching around and considering a couple of different pieces, this one included. Standard hook-up, auto on-off, 5 channel 300wpc@4ohm, sounds good, and we've got a month to return it should we choose. We'll get some pics up tomorrow. :)

We're really stoked with it, we've just been listening to some sacd's from the Bill Evans Trio (Waltz for Debbie, Portrait in Jazz & Sunday at the Village Vanguard) extremely smooth... Pics are coming...

Thanks everybody, we're really pleased with it. This amp seems to have my LSi's low end's tighten up quite a bit.

Face & engtaz, funny story but Geoff is disabled and recovering from a car accident, which has caused him to have a Shoulder scope surgery and a wrist-carpel surgery, so he got the FedEx guy to put it in the house, then he called a couple of our neighbors who got it from the box to the stand. Man this is replacing the Sonance 5150 which weighs 70lbs, neighbors had no problem moving that one out of the way, but they assured Geoff that the 7500 weighs every bit of it's stated 94lbs. I (Suzy) do all the typing and Geoff dictates to me, hence the signature. We are pleasantly surprised at how smooth the 7500 sounds, also doesn't get as warm/hot as the 5150 (not to mention it's another 100wpc).

Very nice. Sounds like a keeper.

Have you tried the Outlaw on the fronts in order to compare it to the Carver? I'm guessing the Outlaw will sound better. Let us know.

Oh dear; well if that's the case perhaps a pair of 2200's will be in order for the 15's hmmm, good thought. We just wanted to mention one of the other great things about the the Outlaw Product Line is that their warranty is transferable in case we decide to head in another direction.

Thoughts; two 2200's for the front's or can they be bridged (if that's even the right term) because we'd like to feed the 15's quite well since this rig (gulp) doubles as our 2 channel setup and since Geoff is a musician (drummer hasn't played or touched a stick in 2+ years), he listens to ALOT of music in 2-channel.

The 7500 should sound better than the 2200. (class a/b vs class G)

First things first - what are your opinions on the outlaw vs the carver? I would expect the oposite of Early and expect the carver to sound better. I will be an interesting test either way.

If you decide to dump the carver and want a really nice 2 channel amp - don't limit yourselves to outlaw. They make great products that are pretty low cost for what they are, but looking on the used market, I bet you could get a really nice 2 channel amp for not a ton of coin. (especially if you sell the carver to offset the cost.)

Just saying - congrats on the amp, but don't limit yourself to only looking at one manufacturer. There are quite a few great amp makers out there.....

    Mains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)
    Center............Polk LSiC (Crossover upgraded)
Surrounds.......Polk LSi7 (Gloss Black - wood sides removed and crossovers upgraded)

Agreed. Getting the 2200's would be a step backwards.

Absolutely, we're guessing that the Carver is going to sound warmer as well, that's all he uses for 2 channel and he sought out that Carver wanting that type of sound. Totally agreed on the 2nd point as well. Thank for the input and the kind words. We'll keep you posted, we hope to go by this local Mom & Pop Hi-Fi shop where they sell a lot of McIntosh, Dynaudio, Integra and the likes. We always go to the back to look in the used room :D We find some treasures in there once in a while. We're going to have to really listen to the Carver vs the Outlaw. Would it be best to break it in first, maybe let it run 80 hours to some med volume music? Thanks

Very interesting about the source of G-2. I've noticed you've always referred to yourselves as we and wondered. It's great to see a couple sharing this hobby. Congrats on the amp. I'm voting on the Carver as well...:D

Place your bets, fellas. Odds are 4 to 1 for the Carver.

Here are the initial impressions of each of the 2 Amps (Carver A-500x & Outlaw 7500) using only a 2 channel setup with the LSi-15's ONLY. We should preface this by saying that when Geoff was looking for a 2 channel amp for the mains, he did so, with the expressed goal of creating a front end that would also serve us (BTW Ron, thanks for the kind words, Geoff considers himself one of the luckiest guys around to have access to a personal keyboard input-er) as a 2 channel setup for listening to mostly 2 channel since among other things Geoff is a drummer (hasn't touched a drum or stick for 2+ years, pics will follow) and listens to ALOT of 2 channel stuff. So we/he sought out the Carver for it's warm sound (Geoff prefers his sound quite flat-no boost in bass or treble). The Sonance was picked up due to it's high current 200+wpc for use with our full LSi HT setup. After listening to a variety of sacd's from across the spectrum (John Mayer, Bill Evans Trio, Al Jarrau, Queen, Frank Zappa, Mozart) with only the Carver running the Mains (LSi 15's), we then hooked the Outlaw up using the front 2 channels on the Outlaw 7500 for the 15's and left the other inputs empty/blank.

First off, the Carver won having a warmer, smoother, more powerful output (this made us wonder about bridging the Outlaw, which we're sure we could do in order to increase power??). But we must say that the Outlaw was far smoother and sounded far better on it's own up against the Carver A-500x then we expected. Keep in mind the Carver has the Outlaw by 100wpc, which makes one wonder what the 15's would sound like with the 7500 have 2 pair of channels bridged (for a total of 600wpc per side, if that's correct/possible??).

The Outlaw is providing outstanding clean power and we continue to be pleased as punch with it. It does btw really give some punch to the LSi 9's in the back when listening to multichannel music, our guess is that it will be the same for movies, though we realize we need to re-calibrate the Surround speaker settings.

If we were going to change out the Carver, we'd go for something with 2 channel and at least 450wpc. Anyway as it stands we are in the column of 'Stoked as hell' with our current setup. As always we welcome input and thoughts!

That is great to hear Suzy!!!

And thank you for confirming what I have said all along about the back speakers. They sound a whole lot better when they get separate amplification as well! You will notice a big improvement when you put in a movie.

Darla (Wingnut) swears by the improvement to her LSI's when she replaced the Outlaw with her Cinenova amp.

The LSI's just seem to soak up all the power you can give them & beg for more!  :D
