placing svs subs behind wall in crawl space

Hello folks:
I am putting in a home theater in a room above my garage. It has a gabled (i.e. slanted) roof from the sides with about a 4 foot high vertical wall on the actual sides. Right now I have twin 20-39 SVS passive tube subs. The installer has suggested possibly putting these actually behind the drywall to satisfy my wife's desire to not put those monsters within view. The alternative is to camoflage them somehow or put them behind curtains in the front. Any thoughts, people? Thank in advance.

Put them behind the curtains, should something go wrong, you dont want to deal with the hassle of digging them out in such small space. Hide behind curtains. Are you planning to go front projector/screen?Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

Use them as end tables and cover them in tablecloths if need be."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche

No way. Yes bass travels through walls, but it would kill SQ, and DB. Yuck! Tuck them in the corners.Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

I say put your foot down, she has the run of the rest of the house, the least she can do is have one room for you. don't hide them don't put them behind a wall. it's not as though this room is in a high traffic area were everyone will see the stuff! if it was your only living room area then I could see it being an issue.

If you are arguing with the Boss, she may have an uncomfortable suggestion as to where they might be put. . .and I don't think the installer will be going after them to make repairs. . .-Ignorance is strength -

Thanks, guys. I think I am going to bring the curtains out a little and tuck the twins in behind them. I like them too much to give them up and I really can hide them in that fashion. The alternative is to sell them and buy a good box sub; but, I don't think I would really be happy.
