A friend of mine has a 2 channel Forte power amp that he had bought in the 80's I'm not sure of the model number but he said he is selling it for $100 and is giving me first crack at it if someone could let me know if they make good quality components I would appreciate it.

thanks

For $100 it's a no brainer. Some of the Forte models were built as lesser models of Threshold and had Nelson Pass as consultant/designer. Which model is it? The model 4 and model 4a use IGBT's as outputs and are difficult to find if they need repair. Nelson was not involved with the 4 or 4a. The 4a being a 50 watt pure class A version and the model 4 being a 100 watt class A/B version.

If you decide to pass please let me know as I would be interested to give one of those model a ride around the block.
