I tried searching, but my effort was fruitless. I am looking into sound deading my car as much as possible, but I would not like to kill my gas mileage with weight. I have looked into second skin, dynamat, and I've heard of raammat and b-quiet and e-dead (something like that??).
What are your opinions of these? How much do you actually need? So far, I feel that dynamat is overpriced, and second skin has a very helpful guide/site. Any help, as always, is appreciated.

Stratus 4 door, btw

would recommend Raammat and Ensolite combo. Best price/performance ratio.

Besides weight, what is the difference between second skin's sheets vs paste? Is there a performance/price difference?

With SecondSkin I just put my order in....few days later it's at my door. How much easier does it get? Besides, with the money I save, I can get more deadener...or go to the movies...or get some nice thick steaks :).

Actually, the sludge and spectrum stuff are less money per sq foot than mat. The down side is you have to wait for it to dry. Its not a long wait by any means though. My truck is a daily driver that I use for work 6 days out of the week, and my entire interior is done in mat AND liquid.

    Bumpamanjaro.

How many feet would you recommend? Right now I am thinking of doing the doors and maybe part of the trunk. How many more places should I put it.

Off topic but also important. Back to my subwoofer grill problem. Can someone tell me the exact problem with the SR subs and MOMO grills If it is clearance I think I might raise the grill using some wood, but I need help with knowing what the problem actually is.

For a stratus, Id get about 80^2 ft. Doors and trunk are the two main things. Get your rear fender wells really good as well. License plate and trunk lid are a bad source of rattling. Do you have the subs in there already? Notice any bad resonances already?

If the grill fits, then I guess the only thing is the clearance. Get a dremel and go at it.

btw, the second skin spectrum ("paste" as it were) and the dynamat-esque material, are geared towards preventing seperate frequencies. when used together they create an almost impenatrable barrier for sound of that specific frequency. i can't even hear my magnaflow exhaust in my accord now, it used to be ALL OVER the dang place too..
