I have a onkyo TX-DS797 thats new also.

I don't have a similar system but my suggestion would be the following:

No meter? use your ears.
Everything sound about even in volume?

Don't listen to these clowns. You would be MUCH better served by purchasing a Bose Acoustimass system and sending those nasty LSi's to me. I'll be a sport and pay for shipping.
In all seriousness, at some point, I'd think about going with power amps for the LSi's rather than a receiver.
