PS3 as DVD player - wow!

I've been using my xbox 360 as my DVD player for about a year now, and my PS3 just came today so I threw in LOTR. I really can't believe how much better DVDs look when upscaled! If anyone else is using an Xbox360 for DVDs... stop!

Hmm, I'll have to compare my Denon to my 360 for DVD playback.

Unfortunately I have discovered that my TV flickers with 1080i content via HDMI... and 720p looks quite bad with this TV. uhg. Oh well, cheap TV needs replacing at some point (More recent Toshiba CRTs have a wide array of documented problems, including HDMI flickering in 1080i HDMI and white bars in 1080i component... generally a bad TV, but I only paid $350 for it).My Iron Man training/charity blog.
