Both players (HD-A1 and BD-P1000) dead at the same time

A couple of nights ago I watched a movie on the Sammy, tonight I go to watch one and the player is flashing between the movie and a green screen. I reinstalled the the firmware update (1.2) and nothings changed.

So, I shut it down and fired up my HD-A1. It loads, starts the movie and says "HDMI ERROR 1" and stops the movie.

Now I'm thinking it's my Monoprice HDMI switcher or the 25' HDMI cable. I disconnect everything and wire up each player to the PJ separately with a 3' cable, same problems with both.

I'm at a loss, both players dying at the same time. Not sure what to do at this point. They are both under warranty but it's very difficult to believe they both would die at the same time.

Wow Ron, you and electronics are really not getting along lately, huh?
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Everything is a dircet input into my PJ. It's not the HDMI switcher and it's not the HDMI cables. Everything has sat unplugged overnight so I'll try again. If nothing I'll try the component connection. It could be a dead HDMI connection on my PJ.

We did have a power outtage a couple days ago so this could be the result of a surge.

What Bobman. Just because two players die and my MINI car batter explodes, that was a good one too, sounded like a shotgun blast when it blew. Maybe todays not a good day to run that 220 line off the main house panel. ;)

Well, everything seems to be ok. I ran both players for 5 minutes each with a direct HDMI connection to the PJ without any problems. I'm wag'ing here that leaving everything unplugged for an extended length of time allowed the players to reset. I bet the power outtage had something to do with the players problems.

The bummer, I damaged one of my 3' Bluejeanscables in the process of moving everything around last night so at this point I am unable to test the switcher again. I ordered a new cable this morning. Those guys are really good about shipping fast so by weeks end I should have the replacement cable to test the switcher with.

I'm just happy everything seems to be working.

Good on ya for getting them back up and running. Once you go Hi Def it sux when your players are down. I had a hiccup with my A1 a few days ago, with it just locking up on a 2.3 firmware update. Unplugged for a few minutes and as you said, it fired up fine and even faster when I plugged it back in. Good on ya though, and what PJ and size screen are you watching? I finally ordered the Carada Criterion 126in BW last night.
