I was wondering if you need to let a home powered Sub break in like you would a car Sub or are they pre broke in. The 505 sounds really good low end but when it comes to a good hard punch it seems to lack a bit that is why I am hoping this is from the need for a break in time.

The second question is if a Subwoofer will sound the same when ran via speaker wires from a crappy old receiver or a High quality one since the built in amp is supplying the power? I am getting ready to get a Denon 2807 or 3806 for the brain of the system but as of now I am using a 15 year old JVC Surrond receiver from back when it was Dolby without the center channel or Sub hook-ups.

What is found to be the best placement for a Sub woofer like center of room or at the entertainment center?
