I love all these games. Doom3 was the first game that actually scared me. Super intense. I am looking for another game FPS along the same lines. Any recommendations?
Thanks Ben
PS I like to run, and gun. I didn't care for Battlefield

Well it isn't run and gun but if those games scared you Condemned: Criminal Origins definitely will.

Are we talking PC or consoles here, as all of these games are available on both?

Personally one of my favorite console shooters is Black. Looks and sounds great and you get really into it, plus when things heat up it can get pretty intense.

Other notables would be Gears of War, Crysis, Call of Duty 4, and Killzone 2 all not out yet (except gears on the 360).

I played the entire game of Doom 3 with my surround sound up and in a pitch black room. I too was genuinely scared. First game to really do that. Very intense. The game itself was okay too.

There are some games like Crysis by the same company coming out to the PC later this year. Half Life 2 is cetainly worth looking into. Gears of War is a lot different, but I have a hunch you'd love it. STALKER is another game that is supposed to be very good.

I never really got into Doom 3. It was just more of the same to me. Fear is definitely a great game. Have you tried the Fear expansion pack yet?

As for other scary games, I would definitely agree with Condemned. That game was great and scary at times.

I kind of wish I had some other suggestions but I can't really think of anymore scary games for the PC

Just got out to take a break. I was Dooming for a while. I can't wait till Crysys. For some reason my gameplay was getting choppy even when I turn the resolution down.
    I have
    5200X2
    8500gt 256meg DDR3
    2 gigs corsair
    striped WD raptors
I think I will take a look at condemned, and the expansion pak for FEAR
I can't wait to hook this up to my projector, and 3000 watts of Adcom surround sound

Doom 3 started out good... but eventually, you have to ask yourself why the designers of a Martian space station built hidden closets where monsters could magically jump out at you. That's just piss-poor architecture if you ask me, sir!

Only three games have ever really creeped me out:
    1) Clive Barker's Undying. Man, the flashback mechanic in this game is awesome. You have a stone that glows any time you get near an area where you can see into the past, and those flashbacks often contain hints on getting further in the game. But that only works if you have the stone in your hand... If you have a gun in your hand, you have to rely on SOUND. There were audio cues when you got near one of those areas that were basically people whispering stuff like "Seeeeeeee". CREEPY AS HELL!

    2) Condemned: Criminal Origins. The game has its faults, but it's one of the first FPS games to rely primarily on melee weapons and actually work. There were moments in the game that made me jump, especially in this old abandoned department store where sometimes the mannequins are mannequins... sometimes they're homicidal freaks wearing mannequin parts. Condemned 2: Bloodshot is on my must buy list for next year.

    3) Bioshock. Let me say it again... FREAKIN' BIOSHOCK. If you play this game in surround, you'll be treated to one of the best audio experiences of any video game EVER. You'll also get to play what is, in my opinion, the best story in a FPS since the original Half-Life. Play in the dark, crank the surround, and I guarantee one of the most unsettling (and fun) gaming experiences you've had. Absolutely a MUST BUY GAME.
    Equipment list:
    Onkyo TX-NR3010 9.2 AVR
    Emotiva XPA-3 amp
Polk RTi70 mains, CSi40 center, RTi38 surrounds, RTi28 rears and heights
SVS 20-39CS+ subwoofer powered by Crown XLS1500
    Oppo BDP-93 Blu-ray player
    DarbeeVision DVP5000 video processor
    Epson 8500UB 1080p projector
Elite Screens Sable 120" CineWhite screen

STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl is an OUTSTANDING FPS. It's buggy so make sure you patch to 1.004 first before playing. It's creepy and challenging. The landscape was copied from the actual Chernobyl area and is as dead and desolate as anything you've ever seen. There are dozens of outstanding mods out there, too. It's a bit like an RPG because there are lots of side missions you can choose to do - or not. You can stay a loner or align with different factions. It's got sandbox like features too in that you can roam virtually everywhere. A second game STALKER: Clear Sky is due out soon. Again, I put this game above all those you mentioned and HL2 also. If you have the PC power to run all the settings on maximum it is breathtaking! I'm presently on my 3rd consecutive play through.
    The Beloved System:
    Parasound Halo P3 Preamp
    Parasound Halo T3 AM/FM Tuner
    Grant Audio Tube Buffer
ADC Sound Shaper II IC Graphic Equalizer
Polk XRT12 XM Satellite Radio Receiver
2 Carver TFM 35x Power Amps
Harmon Kardon T45 Turntable w\ Benz MC 20E Phono Cartridge
Vincent Phono Preamp (not enough gain in the Parasound Phono In)
Cambridge Audio 640C V2 CD Player
    Nakamichi BX300 Cassette Deck
    Polk RTi 12 Main Speakers
    2 Polk PSW 1000 Subwoofers

Bioshock was, hands down, one of the best games I've ever played. I went through the whole thing in the dark with my speakers nice and loud (surround sound is essential!), and wow. Downright creepy at times, but always great. And the story is incredible.
I think I might have to go replay it now.

Crysis will be amazing. I have no doubt. Also give Call of Juaraz a shot. Really fun wild west game with DX10.

The scariest game I've ever played was Manhunt. It was just plain wrong.

Well I finished FEAR extraction point. Looking to get Perseus Mandate. I did the demo, and it seems to be more of the same. Which is a good thing. Some new guns, and enemies. I tried the Bio Shock demo, and it had way to many delays. I hate video scenes. I like to play. To be fair you can not quick save in the demo version. Crysys is only a few days away! I hope to have the time to get it.

I just updated my system to a quad core Intel Q6600 with all the cores running at 3ghz, the mem running at 1066, and the fsb at 1333. Also had to get an 8800GTX 768meg card. With the striped raptors for the OS, and 2 250's striped for the programs, and media. I have a 500 gig for backup purposes. I would like another 500 for raid 1, but then I would have 6 hard drives in my computer. Oh yeah I got a Blue ORB-II CPU cooler with a 120mm fan it keeps the temps in check;) Its real nice not having to decide what settings I can turn up, and what I have to turn down:)

I will have to look into that to.
Everyone needs to check out the 8800GT card with 512 megs. It is fair priced for a high end card that plays anything out there. The only reason I have what I have is a rich customer of mine takes good care of me. If not I would have that card.
