I picked up a pair today off craigslist. They are frs-9. Not much info on the net that I can find. All that I could find was they were $950.00 new in 92.They have a 8" woofer, tweeter, and 10" passive.Any commits would be great.Hoping that somebody will have heard or seen some over the years. thanks for help.Green

Ohm loudspeakers from Brooklyn, New York. A very old and respected name. Try www.ohmacoustics.com

Not long ago a friend asked me to take his Ohm woofs to my man for re-foaming. Another guy wanted to ride down with me so he could find out where the shop was, and bring his 15" Radio Shack woofs for a re-foam too. The 8" Ohm woofs weighed about 3 times as much as the 15"ers.

I had a pair of the frs-9's for 10-15 years and was always impressed with them. I sold them on craigslist for $100. I saw a pair sell on ebay for $150 but I wanted to give someone a good deal. I replaced them with polks of course.

My brother has been fooling around with Ohm speakers for a few years. He's had a couple pairs of the I's and a pair of the Walsh 4. I didn't care for the Walsh, but the I's were incredibly dynamic (when powered with about 400 watts/ch) and imaged very well. Seem to be a very well built speaker.
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...
