One sub blowing could be bad luck....two blowing would lead me to check either my install or settings. Polk really takes care of its customers, so the turn around should not be too long.

Wrong box setup? Wrong amp settings? Distortion = death.

Maybe you needed to turn your gain back down.

it smelled like a vc and its stoped now. i turned my amps up and gave them a good work out. i think that the excess glue was just burning off the voice coils. i only had my 500.1's gain turned up about a third of the way so i turned it up about two thirds of the way and the smell stoped and now my winshield flexes

stay 10's so you don't need to rebuild the box and all. But if you are using a prefab box, stick with the tens but get a real box made for them and get an amp that has lower distortion and enough power to give you what you're looking for.

I have that exact same setup. 2 sr124 dvc in a sealed enclosure. Each sub is powered by a c500.1 at 2ohms.

The sound quality is exxxxxxcellent! However, 2 10's should be just fine also.
