Hook up system to PC

Hello 
A family member gave me a set of 5 speakers and a subwoofer from his dvd theater ssytem he no longer uses cuz its not working.
I would like to know if i could plug those speakers and subwoofer to an amplifier? or seomthign so i can hook them to my computer; if so, i would like to know what i need to buy.
The speakers brand is toshiba and the cables they have are like a + and -, and at the end they have like a 2-square conector. (somewhat like to "drawing" below)
