looks like this might be worth checking out.. thought i'd pass this along to anyone here interested in this.
Bowers & Wilkins is pleased to inform you of the launch of Live from Abbey Road, an innovative new music TV show screening every Thursday evenings on the Sundance Channel at 10PM (E/P)
Inspired by the 75th anniversary of the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London, where the Beatles recorded throughout the 60s, Live from Abbey Road is a twelve-episode series featuring the cream of musical talent from around the world. Each sixty-minute episode captures three artists giving intimate performances in the studio and talking revealingly about their work. Shot in high-definition with 35mm lenses, the aim of the show is to capture performances that, in the words of producers Peter Van Hooke and Michael Gleason, "sound like an album and look like a movie".
The impressive range of artists featured in the show includes international stars such as Paul Simon, Dr John and Pink Floyd's David Gilmour, plus newer artists like Corinne Bailey Rae, The Kooks, Snow Patrol, Razorlight and Kasabian.
B&W's relationship with Abbey Road Studios began in the 1970s and we consider it a huge honour to make the reference speaker system used throughout the Abbey Road studio complex. B&W 800 Series loudspeakers were used throughout the recording, mixing and mastering of Live from Abbey Road.
Live from Abbey Road is shown on the Sundance channel on Thursdays at 10pm and will continue at the same time every Thursday until the series is complete. What artists featured on the show said about Live at Abbey Road
Primal Scream
"It's a great, great studio. It's got real history. Just think of the bands that have been through here. Piper At The Gates Of Dawn was done right here, Syd and the Floyd. so we're just happy to be in that kind of area. It's great, I love it."
Leann Rimes
"This has been an incredible experience. One of my favourite things I've ever done. I woke up this morning so excited that I get to come to Abbey Road and sing."
Amos Lee
"Being in Abbey Road is a pretty special thing really. I know about all the history that has gone on in these studios. When you come to Abbey Road it's like going to the Basilica in Rome."
The Kooks
"Getting the chance to be filmed without an audience is something really different. That's the great idea about it - straight down to basics, it's just a band in a room, doing what they do."
Jamiroquai
"Some music TV shows are just vibeless. You listen back to it on television and it doesn't really sound anything like we sound. You don't get a full picture. You should either see us live or see us in this kind of scenario."

I saw John Mayer, Richard Ashcroft & Norah Jones last night. Good show. Was not familiar with richard Ashcroft until he sang "Bitter Sweet Symphony" (The Verve). This going to be a great series.[
