I got squadoosh on the pre, however, you may be able to convert it to batteries to resolve your lacking cord problem.

BlueMd is a PS Audio man.

    Tedwick.

PS--Let me know if the battery thing works out for you.

Phono section? I seem to recall several self proclaimed audio geniuses buying that pre, for the phono section alone in their uber $ rig. They made one around that time with a separate power supply too.

Value, no idea - but I know you, and I'm sure it was bought 'right'.

    Cheers,
    Russ

**** "A" it was. Real "right". But that wasn't the sweet part. There's a smell bad old man that hits the same places I do. I was kneeling down one day, looking at some original Advent Loudspeakers (two pair). All of a sudden this FUNK is inside my nose and I hear, "You should buy those, they're okay. I know, cause I'm a DEALER." I imagined the packing jobs this rat was capable of and thanked my stars that I wasn't one of his customers. ANYHOW, today as he was trying to park his ****-filled, shitbox vehicle in a spot that I could've backed the freakin' Queen Mary into (blindfolded) I parked and headed in. The PS leaped into my arms, and I couldn't resist asking him if it was any good. Just to rub it in.

It's not a very big piece. It's not going to be worth much at all unless I can find a power cord. A email to PS Audio yesterday yielded an answer along the lines of "We have no idea about power cords from a PS Audio that was basically a different company run by different people."

That'll be easy to find. The place I picked it up has instructions to tackle and chain down the guy who brought it in if they ever see him there again. They say he's fairly regular. I just hope it was his and not something he picked up and had as much luck with as I am.

Actually George, I think those were active or passive preamps. You loose the phono, but I think it can still be used as a passive preamp, without the power cord. There may or may not be a switch on the rear.
