Wiring for outdoor speakers

Getting ready to wire for two outdoor speakers - atrium 45s. Is there a suggested gauge of speaker wire I should use - 12, 14, 16? Running about 50-60' of cable.

Under 80 ft, 16 gauge will work fine. If you're going to run an in wall volume control, I'd upgrade to 14 gauge since the VC adds a lot of resistance.
