oppo dvd players?

The oppo site seems to be showing a price hike and they are showing refurbished units. Any info about this? I was about ready to buy when I noticed that the prices appeared to have changed.

    Huh, interesting. If you're still interested in buying, the Amazon prices haven't been updated it looks like, so you can still score a new one for a cheap price.

    if your interested in DVD upconversion player, get an HD-A2 performance is comparable to oppo dvd PLUS you can play HD DVD movie. just need to add little $$$ and you can get 5 free HD DVD movies which offset the price difference.

    Dose the OPPO DV-981hd have picture shift where you can align the picture precisely on the screen?

    I would like to find a up-conversion dvd player that has this option. I have a Pioneer elite and for some odd reason the picture never fully fills the screen at the bottom of the panel there is always a small 1" strip left at the bottom. I think if I had a DVD player with that option and I could pull the picture down It would fill the screen completely.

    I believed it's the setting of your TV that's why it won't fully fill the screen. I have that experience before with my Samsung DLP. A service technician came and he was able to fixed it by going to the Service Menu screen and made the necessary adjustment.

    Any Pixar movies has THX optimizer, try to run the video test and you'll see that image is not center from your display.
