Hi again. I'll always post myy set up first- Polk SR6500's, one pair; one Polk SR124DVC, one 880 PRS, and one Memphis belle 16MCH1300.

I am buying install equipment- have it all picked out, wanted to run the list by you. I was considering either stinger or streetwire (something like that) for the wiring, decided on stinger. Please tell me if I'm getting ripped off, or if you have suggestions.

I never understood why people drop a good amount of money on good audio components and then skimp out on the sound deadening. Might as well get lower end gear and save some coin, as you wont really get the most out of the gear purchased.

I believe the sound deadener is as much part of a good install as the wiring and other components.

Second Skin is top notch and reasonably priced.

Thanks for the reply- how much do I need? Like I said, I am thinking of only doing the trunk for price and ease of install... I assume the cable etc is up to standard?

No problem :). Yeah, cable is fine.

I used more than 40 square feet in my trunk, probably closer to 50. I think I used close to 30 or more for my front doors (both skins). Doing the doors will offer a noticeable improvement in the mid driver's midbass reponse.

Go around all speakers, where the hole is cut a pie shape and fold it behind for more support behind the door, i do 2 layers and it sounds legit, for the trunk, just listen to it, put the mat where u hear rattles.

I was going to try a Momo 12" grill for my SR124, was told by the Polk dealer that it doesn't work on that sub...

No, it does not. Try calling our customer service dept. and see if you can buy a grill from the db-212 as a separate part. Those grills fit the SR.

Please tell me you're kidding. I thought that any 12" grille would fit any 12" sub- especially since they are from the same manufacturer.... the DB grills work you are sure? I forget if I already bought this... I hope I didn't.

Cany anybody confirm the problem with the sub grill? While we're at it, is there another speaker grill (such as momo grill) that can be used with the SR6500 that looks better than the included grill?

Wouldn't kid about a thing like that. As per Josh, a db 212-2 grill looks promising. Check out the look- if it's what you're after, db675/6750 grills will match and I believe they fit the SR6500s...I believe they're discontinued, so hit up customer service sooner rather than later.

Considering hes an installer for Polk, I'd say thats all the confirmation youd need for the sub grill.

Yes, the db 6750 grill will work for the mids, IF you are using them in component mode and not coaxial mode. In coaxial mode the tweeter sticks out too far and hits the grill. The 6750 is discontinued but we should still have parts. And, yes, confirm on the sub grill. The MOMO spokes aren't arched as high as the db grill. Therefore, the surround hits. Call Helen at 800-377-7655 x. 324 for parts.

I'd personally go without sub the grill. For each his own I guess.
