How do you keep track?

So on Monday I'm headed out of town with a friend to some vinyl shop he says is "unreal". This motivated me to create a spreadsheet listing all my albums so that I don't have to worry about purchasing duplicates. I can simply keep it on my phone or PDA to reference while shopping. Anyway....as I was typing it up, I couldn't help but wonder if there was a better way of keeping inventory of my collection.

So my question is. How do you all keep track of your collections? Word or Excel? Or is there some other good utilities out there that I'm unaware of?

Unfortunately, you can't take it with you unless you export it to Excel then to a text file to transfer to your pda. Too much work. Easier to make a list of what you're looking for, that is, for those with huge collections.

I don't worry about dups. If I end up with a dup, I keep the best or both - it really doesn't matter.
